West Electric carefully chooses its personnel among the best prepared and developed professionals of the field that show motivation and leadership to contribute to the company and their own professional careers. A team of more than 250 associates are responsible for West Electric’s total success.

Our administrative and Construction personnel is structured in logical operative departments, offering our customers total reliability and specialization in all the areas included in our service .

The three main segments of our service structure are:

West Electric Corporation is headed by a Board of Directors, that establishes the main goals and directions that the corporation will follow. Managers from various departments are part of the Board, as well as financial and legal councils.

The corporation is divided in specialized departments in order to gain advantages from the experiences of expertise developed through education and years of experience.

Secretarial

Our Secretarial staff is on hand to help with any part of the operation needed in any point. Each is capable of working spreadsheets and letters, locate any document related to any project, and assist our customers with any need they might have.

Headed by Mrs. Margarita Bonilla in our headquarters, assisted by Karen Ruiz also in Mayaguez, and Marylin Villalona in the Caguas Office, helping the Metro and Eastern Areas.

Accounting

Our accounting department counts with specialized personnel in Construction bookeeping. Each of the members is specialized in one of various areas such as Bonding, Lines of Credit, Payroll and Labor Law, Accounts Payable, Invoicing, Project Closure, AIA Forms, etc...

Headed by Jesira Delgado, the department is divided into areas, on which each of the members periodically attends seminars regarding their area of expertise, in order to keep up with the latest changes in laws and/or accounting principles.

West Electric uses Intuit's Master Builder as their accounting software, which allows for a construction tailored software solution.

Estimating & Marketing

Our Estimating and Marketing Department with a vast experience in the field provides high quality services for our clients. Our personnel with over 5 years of technical experience contributes to give you a complete and detailed proposal as per your requirements. We participate in either private and/or public bids.
Our services include:
• Free Estimates
• Value Engineering
• Prepare proposals for Design and Build
• Send your plans/drawings and specifications in softcopy, by e-mail or CD; our personnel will reproduce them in our facilities and a proposal will be prepared accordingly.

Purchasing

With contacts to all major suppliers of electrical equipment in the island, and years of experience purchasing all of the many detailed components involved in electrical contracting West Electric Corporation's purchasing department follows in all parts of the purchase process with detail and carefulness.

The department is headed by Nelson Samot, backed up thoroughly by Arsenio Cordero. Both follow up on the status of the purchases of the main and secondary items in all of our projects, taking care of submittal preparation and tracking, follow up with our customers in submittals approval, Value engineering studies when our customers so require it, and maintaining a library of information, in order to compare and cross reference any required equipment.

Management Information System

Our M.I.S. Department counts with specialized personnel in the field of Computer System Information. The M.I.S. Department is responsible for the administration of all computer systems in our Headquarters in Mayaguez and Gurabo office. In addition, our department supports the company Fernando L. Sumaza & Co. Inc. in 15 housing projects around the Island.

Warehouse and Distribution

In charge of shipping, receiving and verifying that all materials are in perfect conditions. After receiving, material is delivered island-wide by our personnel. We have vehicles able to deliver light as well as heavy equipment.

The connection between Mayagüez and Gurabo offices through Island Wide is the link to provide the services required to receive and/or deliver any type of documents the next working day within the Island.

This department ensures the timely arrival of materials, equipment and vehicles, to serve all our areas and customers.
